Contact The City About a Boulevard SE Road Diet

Boulevard SE running through Grant Park, Chosewood Park, and Benteen Park has a chronic traffic problem, with cars always speeding heavily, making it dangerous to cross the street at crosswalks. This is due to Boulevard SE being an unintended detour between interstate 20, 675/285, and Moreland Ave SE for drivers passing through. The street has also needed repaving for years and was excluded from the RenewAtlanta TSPLOST plan after cutbacks were made, yet Boulevard NE/Monroe Dr's complete street/road diet plan was retained. Efforts have been ongoing by neighbors for nearly a decade to have something done about it, to no avail.

Since the City spent upwards of 50 million dollars on the Grant Park Gateway, there is no good argument for not investing a small fraction of that into the road it relies on.

Below is contact information for various officials that can take action in order to make a safer Boulevard SE, which would most likely include a road diet in order to lessen speeding and make the road far more pedestrian friendly.
