Grant Park is in NPU-W, which also includes Ormewood Park, East Atlanta, Benteen and other neighborhoods in southeast Atlanta. Created in 1975, the neighborhood planning system consists of all city neighborhoods grouped into 24 neighborhood planning units (NPUs). These NPUs are the principal means for facilitating citizen participation in the City's planning process.
NPUs meet on a monthly basis. Issues that are considered include zoning issues, park event applications, liquor license renewals, and environmental issues. What city office and/or phone number can one call to have junk cars removed?
"The Housing Code Inspection Division receives complaints on existing buildings and premises (residential and business). The complaints include: junk vehicles, vacant lots and yards that are overgrown and/or have trash and debris, deteriorated and/or open and vacant structures and scrap tires. Housing Code Inspectors perform inspections of properties for the violations mentioned above and issue notices of noncompliance to property owners and agents. Feel free to contact the appropriate inspector in your NPU from the list below."
The supervisor listed for NPU-W is V. Mayo (404-330-6282). The inspectors are A. Reese (404-330-6074) and J. Youngblood (404-330-6190 Ext.5489).
Good luck!

Most of Grant Park is designated as a Historic Zoning District. When work on the exterior of property in the District is proposed, a Certificate of Appropriateness must be obtained from the Urban Design Commission.
