Illuminated Letters: a Calligraphic Performance is a visual art performance, featuring international calligraphers demonstrating medieval and contemporary techniques, including Hindu, Persian, Chinese and Western styles. The concept of this performance is based on well known calligrapher, Brody Neuenschwander's ground breaking performance art "Brush with Silence" held in Germany and Japan,which had people lined up out the door. The Atlanta version was so successful last year that the hosting guild, Friends of the Alphabet, has made it an annual event.

Illuminated Letters will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 265 Washington St, Atlanta GA 30303 on Wednesday March 6 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This event is secular, free, and open to the public.

Children are welcome. Calligraphers perform spot lit in silence, so the event may be better suited for older children.
